The Master the Galapagos 7 nights liveaboard itinerary visits many of the best scuba diving areas of the Galápagos Islands. The Galápagos are an Ecuadorian archipelago of volcanic islands straddling the equator about 970 km west of continental Ecuador. They are also a UNESCO World Heritage site, an official Ecuadorian province, an Ecuadorian National Park as well as a biological marine reserve. In addition to being home to a variety of endemic, land-based wildlife, the Galápagos Islands are renowned for amazing shark diving with the chance to encounter silky sharks, the famous Galapagos shark and an abundance of schooling hammerheads. Few people are granted the opportunity of diving these pristine waters and no place on Earth will boast such a variety of underwater sightings.

Maps & Itinerary

You may wonder what all this fuss is about, but we can assure you that the Galápagos Islands are deserving of all the titles bestowed upon them. Being located both in the Southern and Northern hemispheres, the islands are already an oddity themselves, but this archipelago is the land of every extreme.

The 18 islands and 100 islets, covering a distance of 220km from North to South, are world-renowned for their vast endemic and unique wildlife. Charles Darwin’s observations and collections of many of the species in the Galapagos during the voyage of the Beagle contributed to his famous ‘Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection’.

Their vastness is surprising in itself (7,880 km2 of land spread over 45,000 km2 of ocean), but the fact that they are still being shaped by volcanic activity is amazing. The wildlife is beyond wonder with plants, birds and animals that don’t seem to have changed much since ancient times; Anyone would be forgiven for thinking that this place has been frozen in time.

Your scuba diving adventures with Galapagos Master may encompass everything from whales to nudibranchs and much, much more, including possible mola mola sightings. The diving conditions can often be challenging, and therefore not suited to inexperienced scuba divers, but the rewards will be unforgettable and well worth it.

Your 7 nights ‘Master the Galapagos’ liveaboard diving holiday will be filled with plenty of wonderous encounters and memories to last you a lifetime.

Detailed itinerary
PLEASE NOTE

Most of the diving on this itinerary is not suitable for entry-level divers due to depths and strong currents. Advanced Open Water with a minimum of 50 logged dives and experience in currents are mandatory requirements.

The itinerary includes an extensive amount of time cruising between some of the islands, particularly to and from Wolf & Darwin, although the longer crossings will mostly be overnight. Generally, the same islands and dive sites are included each week although the order is dictated by the Galapagos National Park and may vary weekly. The itinerary is subject to change depending on local regulations and permits, guests’ experience, weather conditions and logistics and is at the Captain’s discretion.

Water temperatures can drop to 15°C (59°F) or even lower so we recommend bringing additional thermal layers to wear under your wetsuit. You will also need to bring gloves, hood or hooded vest, and a 20-30 metre reel for DSMB deployment as these items are not available to rent on Galapagos Master

Galapagos has always been on our bucket list, it was worth the wait, we saw everything we expected to see and more. The encounters with the whale sharks were breathtaking. If the shower was hot this would be a five star experience. Crew are fantastic.

The boat is well equipped to cater for all divers, the crew are very attentive, nothing is too much trouble. The guides are very passionate about everything they do. My favourite dive was Punta Rosa with the Mola, something I have wanted to see for a long time. I would like to see reusable water bottles, filled from the water cooler and soda pop from large bottle into glasses to reduce plastic waste. Could guest be encouraged to take some of their waste with them, things like cotton wool and ear buds etc, they bring them over so they could be given a waste bag to take back

We had a great trip. The diving itself was amazing regarding the marine life. Lots of sharks, manta ray, turtles, sealions, jacks and many other fishes we've seen as well as iguanas and molas, which was incredible! Over this also on land the birds, sealions, crabs and different birds und turtles flashed us. Comfortable facilities, friendly guides and good services from the whole crew made our fullcharter each day to something special.

I came to the Galapagos to see the Mola Mola; come to find out its' name is Mola Ramsey. My partner & I choose 2 livaboards per year to enjoy for each of our birthdays. Never in my life have I ever enjoyed learning about the Islands & how each is different from the other. Our guide was so passionate & informative. I will NEVER forget what Ruley passed down to me; thus, me passing it down to younger generations! I will forever pray for the islands & their particular species. Thank you Ruley & Galapagos Master for imprinting my heart!
